A Festive Must

The tale of The Nutcracker has been celebrated the world over each and every Christmas, and with good reason! Tchaikovsky's score is timeless and the story is full of adventure and wonder. Presented by the Makaroff Youth Ballet, in collaboration with the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center and the Fox Valley Symphony, this version of the ballet has been performed for over a decade, and is a wonderful showcase for Makaroff's talented youngsters.

The Nutcracker begins on Christmas Eve with a young girl called Clara being given a wooden nutcracker as a present. After everyone else has gone to bed, Clara sneaks down the stairs to play some more with her new toy, only to discover that the nutcracker has sprung to life! It's the start of a dazzling adventure into the land of sweets, where you'll witness fierce battles between mice and toy soldiers, and meet the sugar plum fairy.
